INTRODUCING THE TEAM
About the Developers
Pumula Syndicate was founded by a group of investors who envisioned a unique mature lifestyle component for Garlington Estate. Construction of Garlington Village began in 2015 and to date we have successfully completed 29 freehold properties (with construction of a further three underway), 7 Karoo Townhouses and 12 Assisted Living Units.
Phase 2 will see the addition of 17 Karoo Townhouses, which will be built over three phases, and the remaining 28 Assisted Living Units. Garlick House, the state-of-the-art frail care centre, is under construction and due to be completed by May 2019, with the Village Clubhouse to follow soon afterwards.
Pumula Syndicate Trust (IT780/2013/PMB) was initially a syndicate of 16 homeowners, who purchased the land for the purpose of ensuring that the development included a care centre and was not developed merely as a sectional title development. The Trustees are: A Christopher, OM Greene and GMS Smith, who, together with C St Leger and SJ Francis, make up the management committee. The affairs of the Pumula Syndicate Trust are managed by Venns Attorneys under the leadership of Guy Smith.

Greg Bellars has been a qualified and practicing architect for the past 16 years, and an architectural technician for a further 7 years before that. Like Sally, Greg has been designing houses in Garlington from the very beginning. The units that Greg has designed in Garlington Village are Tamboti, Streitzia and Bushwillow as well as the variations of these based on the client’s needs.
From a very young age, Greg was interested in the built environment, so architecture was a natural career choice for him. “I believe that architects can have a positive effect on the users of buildings and I hope that I have managed to achieve this with the work that I have completed.”
