YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD

Garlington Estate

Garlington Estate is home to an active and warm multi-generational community. The Estate commands beautiful views of the lower Midlands countryside and sets a new standard in contemporary country lifestyle. Nourishing the human spirit through beautiful surroundings, architecture and community areas is at the heart of Garlington Estate, where there is particular emphasis on aesthetics, comfort and creating a sense of place.

You’ll find pedestrian friendly streets and lanes to encourage walking and intentionally-designed public spaces to inspire community living. The public areas have been developed along the principle of neo-traditional town planning, where public spaces are important features of village neighbourhood life. Crowe Square is one such space, from which everything radiates. The Square is the social hub of the development and is surrounded by luxury apartments, small offices, a restaurant, the Homeowners’ Association office and gymnasium.

The 136 hectares that Garlington Estate occupies was part of Garlick Timbers, Phil Garlick’s farm. Phil was a keen cyclist and remained active until his death in 2011. He even competed in the Cape Argus in his eighties! Garlick House, the care facility in Garlington Retirement Village, has been named in memory of this kind and generous farmer and businessman.
